Heat Shrink Removal Tools & Skivers
The Heat Shrink process secures all of your catheter assemblies together. It protects them from external heat forces and ensures that the catheter shaft is uniform throughout. Skivers are individualized tools that can peel away heat-shrunk polymers from various mandrel/tubing configurations once the catheter has reached the OD production stage. Skivers enable operators to reduce processing time and increase performance as tubing comes off the production line.
CT-Skivers
The CT Skiver is a customized tool that cuts between the catheter tubing and applied heat shrink layers and separates them, removing the heat shrink material. These skivers can be individually customized to your specific needs including as small as 0.017 to as large as 0.750.
Manual Skiver
Manual skivers are optimal for low-volume and small-scale manufacturing or prototyping where meticulous attention to detail is necessary. MMT’s FEPeeler Manual Skivers offer precise control and flexibility, providing a practical and cost-effective solution.
Auto-Skiver
The Auto-Skiver will skive your parts internally and the strip of removed FEP comes out the bottom. This machine can be placed over a gap between tables or over a hole cut for it over a garbage can to help manage waste.
Tube Slitting
The slitter tool is held in your hand; simply feed the tube through the slot sized for your application.
